Communication software for Catholic dioceses

A diocese office can reach parishioners through the bulletins they already read, instead of depending only on the diocese website, social media and WhatsApp broadcasts.

Write once, appear in every parish bulletin

  • The diocese office writes a notice once and chooses the dates it runs.
  • It appears in every member parish's bulletin, in its own “From the Diocese” section.
  • A translation is reviewed once and shown in that language wherever it has been published.
  • A parish can hide a notice that does not apply to it.
  • The office sees how many times each notice was shown, parish by parish, counted anonymously with no tracking of individuals.

One place to find a Mass

  • A directory of the diocese's parishes, with a link to each parish's weekly bulletin.
  • A Mass-times finder by day, language and area, taken from each parish's latest published bulletin.
  • Search across every parish bulletin, so an event or a devotion can be found without knowing which parish announced it.

Parishes stay in charge of their own bulletins

Each parish office writes and publishes its own bulletin. The diocese layer sits alongside it: notices flow down to the parishes, and what the parishes publish flows up into the directory and the Mass finder.

See it running

The Diocese of Penang's directory and Mass-times finder are live, built from its parishes' real bulletins: pgdiocese.parishbell.net.

Questions

Does the diocese have to run the parish bulletins?
No. Parish offices keep writing their own. The diocese office only writes its own notices and manages who can do so.
Can a parish choose not to show a diocese notice?
Yes. A parish leader can hide a notice for their parish, and can show it again.
Do we need every parish on board to start?
No. Notices and the Mass finder cover the parishes that publish with Parish Bell, and grow as more join.
How do we get started?
Contact us. We set up the diocese office's account and the parishes that want to begin, and train the offices.
